Dale Stephens, the founder of a program named UnCollege visited the Michael Polanyi College September the 6th of 2012.

He talked about how he dropped out of school, and decided to take over his learning process. Even though he decided to go to college, he soon found out that something was wrong. He founded UnCollege which is a program for learners that want to take care of their own education.

The mission of this interesting program is: "To change the notion that university is the only path to success and to help people to thrive in an ever changing world in which it is virtually impossible for educational institutions to adapt."

This kinds new initiatives are the revolution of how humans will get to learn in the upcoming years. A considerable number of janitors have a PhD degree! Something is just not right.

Amable Sanchez was invited to one of our meetings. His voice is one of the wisest I've heard in my life. With serenity he articulates ironic, well redacted sentences and his Spanish is as rich as the myth of El Dorado.

We asked the question: What is a Pioneer? He first asked us. "If you're pioneers, then who are you? That would answer the question." I can say that was an amazing approach to the question.
After each of us told what we were doing in the Michael Polanyi College, he explained us a little about the roots of the word "pioneer" in Spanish.

Pionero comes from the word Piaget, which is a tool adventurers use when climbing mountains. Such an incredible relation!

But we must use tools, choose the tools to get to something if we are going to climb a mountain. We can't climb the Everest in a swimsuit with no tools and have the same chance of getting to the top if we're well prepared.

We also have to be aware that there will be battles in which we'll have to confront with ourselves and with others' opinions.

At the end of the meeting, Amable came up with the lyrics of a song of Serrat. Let Serrat speak for me:
